Hello, my dears! It’s Alla Sem here. If you’ve ever searched for weight loss help online, you’ve seen them. The lists of “Top 10 Diets” that promise amazing results. I used to click on them all the time when I was 110 kg, hoping this time would be different. Today I want to share what I’ve learned about these popular diet lists and why they might not be the answer you’re looking for.
There are always 10 top weight loss diets listed somewhere on the internet. But do they actually work?
Here’s the honest truth: almost any diet will work, at least for a little while. The real question is whether you can stay on them long enough to achieve your weight loss goals. Most people can’t, and it’s not because you lack willpower. It’s because these diets aren’t designed for real life.
Every year the top 10 diets change a little bit, according to what’s popular at the time. Diets get into the top 10 by the number of people who are interested in them. What’s really interesting is that popularity doesn’t mean they’re effective and safe over the long term. It just means they’re popular right now.
Have you ever followed a top 10 diet plan? Think back to why you chose it.
Did a friend recommend it to you? Had they had tremendous and sustained success with it? Or did the front cover just look good and appealing?
Was it that the promise of easy weight loss was just too much to pass up?
I’ve been there. I bought the books, bought the special foods, and believed the promises. And like so many others, I ended up disappointed.

Most people reading this page have tried more than one diet in the past. You already know that they didn’t really work for you, but you’re looking for something that will work this time. I understand that hope completely.
What you should know is that just because a diet is popular does not mean it will definitely work for you. It does not mean it will definitely continue to work for you. Your body is unique, and what works for thousands of other people might not work for you.
And worst of all, statistically, you’re more than 85 percent likely to put back on more weight than you lost on a fad diet. Those numbers are sobering. The diet industry counts on you coming back to try again.
I consulted Google and found 31 million webpages that deal with diets in some way, shape, or form. How many can you try in one lifetime before finding one that works for you? The answer is that you shouldn’t have to try that many.
There are ways to deal with weight issues, ways that offer you sustainable and permanent weight loss. But you probably won’t find them in the top 10 diets list. They don’t make for exciting headlines or quick fixes. They involve gradual changes, patience, and finding what works for your unique body.
Don’t be fooled by miracle cures. That’s all the top 10 diets really are. Ultimately you have to find what works for you. You’re unique, and your personal weight loss program needs to be unique too.
On my journey from 110 kg to 80 kg, I stopped chasing the next big diet and started listening to my own body. I learned what foods made me feel good, what portions worked for me, and how to build habits that lasted. That made all the difference.
With love and belief in you,
Alla Sem
